About Access Afya Kenya Ltd Access Afya is an award winning social enterprise in Kenya, committed to bringing low-income communities in Kenya quality healthcare. We run a chain of low-cost micro-clinics as anchors to our model, with a mobile field health team that reaches people in the places where they already spend their time – such as schools and factories. We deliver curative services, wellness counselling, maternal child health, family planning, including ANC & Ulta sound, Chronic care for Non-Communicable diseases, minor surgeries and we are growing this list. Access Afya currently owns and operates 14 health facilities in total. 5 operate under a franchise model and the other 9 are fully run by Access Afya. We are looking to fill in two clinical officer position. The job position will be located in either nine branches, located within Nairobi specifically in the slums i..e Mukuru South B, Sinai Lunga Lunga, Kiambiu, Tassia, Gatina - kawangware, Baba dogo and Mukuru kwa Njenga. Our mission is to create access to quality health care for the global mass market through sustainable care models. About the Role The role of a nurse is very crucial in Access Afya. The successful candidate will is a brand ambassador of the company to all our stakeholders including the ministry of health, our patients and other partners. He or she is tasked with exercising professionalism at all times, ensuring all patients are treated with excellence, dignity, privacy, and respect, and are encouraged to be involved in their own care. Job Description • Immunization and reproductive health services. • Referring patients appropriately. • Safeguarding all confidential information concerning patients and their treatment and their property at all times. • Identifying priorities and implementing care based on individual patients’ needs and sound nursing judgment. • Communicating effectively with other medical professionals, patients and their significant others including staff of other departments in order to advocate for the patients effectively. • Utilizing infection control measures, to provide a safe and suitable environment for patients, staff and others. • Investigating patients’ complaints and incidents promptly in accordance with the clinic procedures. • Being knowledgeable of the equipment at your disposal and to safeguard them from damage, wastage or loss. • Ensuring accurate documentation and proper record keeping. • Providing appropriate health care service including integrated management of childhood Illness (IMCI), family planning, NC/PNC care and chronic care • Providing health education and counselling to patients/clients and the community on identified health needs. • Utilizing available resources, effectively to ensure quality service delivery, profitability, and cost-containment • Upholding statutory regulations as required by the nursing profession and the laws of Kenya • Maintaining good relationship with the MOH through timely reporting and attending scheduled meetings based on quality care • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time Job Specifications • Diploma or Degree in Nursing. • Minimum2 years’ experience in a nursing role. • Basic level of computer literacy (MS Office, Google Sheets). • Good communication skills – both verbal and written. • Exceptional organizational skills.
